MWL Chief Meets UK Islamic Leaders During Visit to Madinah

LONDON: Muslim World League Secretary-General Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa met with British Islamic leaders in Madinah  to discuss key issues facing the UK’s Muslim community.

During the meeting, the delegation praised the MWL’s influential role in the Islamic world and its efforts to support Muslim minorities in Europe and the UK, especially in preserving cultural and religious identities.

They highlighted that King Charles had welcomed Al-Issa to Buckingham Palace marking him as the first Arab and Muslim dignitary from outside the UK to be received after the monarch’s coronation.

The UK delegation also visited the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography, affiliated with the MWL, which showcases the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

In their discussions, both sides reaffirmed their strong support for the Palestinian cause and condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza.

They called for an “immediate end to the genocide being perpetrated against the people of Gaza by the brutal war machine of the Israeli occupation government,” according to an MWL statement.

The leaders emphasized that Gaza should serve as a symbol of unity rather than division among Muslim communities.

The delegation also commended the 2019 Charter of Makkah, describing it as a vital framework for promoting moderation and constructive dialogue with non-Muslim audiences on global challenges.
